your hours at the last meeting or if you have not turned in any hours at all, please
make sure to get them in before break. We would like to make sure everyone
has hours that are logged into the system, so try to get them in soon!

Force Wrestling Club 12/11/11 event

I am contacting you on behalf of Force Wrestling Club. Force will be hosting a large tournament on December 11, 2011 at Plainfield East High School. We are looking for volunteers to help work concessions and table workers for this event. If any of your students need service hours and would like to help, please have them contact me. The event will begin at 6:00 am and should be finished by 3:00pm if not earlier. They can work all day if they would like or just a couple of hours! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

November 18 Grandparents Dinner at Central Elementary

I  am the treasurer of the PTA at Central Elementary School and we have a last minute need for assistance at an event we have planned for this Friday night (November 18). This is our annual Grandparents Dinner. We have about 275 guests attending and need at least 10 of your NHS members to assist with set-up, greeting, serving food from a buffet line and clean-up. Set-up is from 4:00 to 6:00 pm and the dinner and clean-up would be from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. Any amount of assistance would be appreciated, so if they can only stay for one of the time periods above that would be fine.

Holiday Cards for the Troops

Soldiers' Angels is preparing 140,000 holiday packs to send to the troops overseas. We would like to show our support by writing cards to our men and women in uniform. If you decide to write a card send it to Mrs. Decker or Ms. Courter but do not place it in an envelope because all cards must be reviewed. However , incase some soldiers may want to write back to you include the school's address on your cards. You can make your own cards, buy a card from the store, or visit www.teachspace.org/soldiersangels/holidaycards.html. The deadline for these cards is Nov. 15th but the sooner you get them in the better. Thank You.

Reading Collaboration Workshop

Ms. Green from Central Elementary is looking for at least 3 students for the Reading Collaboration Workshop. They'd like to offer free child care if possible but they need volunteers. This event is held on Tuesday Novemember 29th from 5:15-7:30. See Mrs. Decker or Ms. Courter to sign up. Thank you.

about NHS! How exciting! So now students can see meeting minutes or look up reminders

The 2011-2012 Plainfield Central National Honor Society has been announced, officers have been decided, and service opportunities have begun! Congratulations to everyone who was selected, and keep working hard over the summer to help our community!
